Slim down. That may be what our doctor or our mirror tells us. So how do we develop a plan that will last us and one we won’t cheat on–or at least not cheat on too often? How do we stop going up and down in our weight like a yo-yo?

We need to develop an eating plan. Obviously, some of us have a natural eating plan. We never gain weight and we eat whatever we want. But if you go to the mall in your city or town, and observe the people there, you’ll come to the conclusion that it’s not the norm. More people are overweight than people who are slim. Some look like they need to lose a lot of weight, and some could lose ten or fifteen pounds. And I’m trying to body shame anyone. But being overweight is not healthy. In fact, people who are slim except for a protruding belly need to lose that stomach. According to the medical profession, stomach fat is dangerous:

It’s been drummed into us as children to eat a balanced diet. And that’s good advice. Always make a mental note to yourself to eat plenty of vegetables, a few servings of fruit, whole grains and lean protein every day. That’s what I do.
